Why pro Cages?
PRO-CAGES was founded to meet the growing demand for a new system in terrariums. Until now terrariums have been produced either in wood or melamine- which are both perfect for retaining heat but do not deal well with humidity, and are therefore difficult to clean- or in plastic or glass which are very easy to clean, and cope well with humidity, but present heat retention problems in environments that have not first been well heated.
After carefully researching alternative materials, we decided to use PVCDR (PVC with regulated density). This provides a plastic material with a thickness and density (12mm) that makes it an ideal insulator- resistant, and with an extraordinary capacity to deal with humidity.
Thanks to the properties of the material, along with the design, we have managed to produce terrariums that maintain temperature and humidity like no others. Besides which, our regulated ventilation system allows us to perfectly regulate the ventilation and humidity depending on the animal, or on the climate that we wish to reproduce.
In our quest to produce the ideal terrarium we have had great help both from breeders, and when it comes to the materials, from manufacturers of boards for surfing, windsurfing and kite surfing thanks to our location in Tarifa (Spain), the world famous centre for these water sports, and the fabrication of the equipment they use.
